Giant Hybrid Cycling Technology - What Is It?

RIDE WITHOUT RESTRICTIONS.  Transportation, recreation, competition—bicycles have always represented different things to different people and, for many, they have become a way of life. With the world changing at such a rapid pace, it makes sense to look at what a bike does—and what it could do better—so that it can successfully address the needs of today’s riders.

Giant Hybrid Cycling Technology IS the next step in cycling that many riders have been waiting for. It makes mobility easier, working seamlessly to expand the experience and bring the benefits of cycling to more people.

When you try it for the first time, you’ll see your ride—and your world—differently, and you’ll understand instantly how Giant Hybrid Cycling Technology has the power to change the way you move.

HYBRID, NOT ELECTRIC.  Hybrid: you hear the word everywhere you go, but what does it really mean, and how does it apply to bicycles? To understand what hybrid bicycles are, it’s important to note what hybrid bicycles are not. Giant’s hybrid bicycles are not electric bicycles.

What’s the difference? When you think of “electric” bicycles (which are the most common form of assisted bicycle on the road), you think “motorcycle.”

Why? Because almost every electric bicycle out there is really just a bicycle with a motor strapped to the rear wheel. Hop on, twist the throttle and you’re off—just like a motorcycle. Sounds like a good thing, but the catch with electric bicycles is that, because they don’t rely on your pedaling power, they’re highly inefficient. In fact, it’s hard to call them bicycles at all, because if you don’t want to pedal, you don’t have to. This places a huge strain on the motor and battery supply, resulting in very poor range (in some cases, less than five miles on a full charge!). In addition, these electric bicycles often utilize heavy, oversize motors and bulky, outdated battery technology. Due to their high cost of upkeep, poor range and portly weights, electric bikes should be viewed as a thing of the past

The future is Giant’s Hybrid Cycling Technology, which integrates a state of the art power system harmoniously with your pedal power to provide a seamless output of energy. Experience Hybrid Cycling Technology and find yourself riding farther, faster and with greater ease and enjoyment.
